Celtic Heritage: History & Culture of Ireland

DESCRIPTION

This two-week course will explore various aspects of Irish history and culture including archaeology, art, architecture, literature, and music. The course will be based in Dublin and Galway and will include excursions to Newgrange, Glendalough, the Aran Islands, the Burren, and Connemara. Classroom discussions and lectures will be augmented with site visits to historic buildings, monuments, cathedrals, and various tours.

CREDITS

3 undergraduate resident credits:
NCLC 395 or HIST 388.


HOUSING

Students will be housed in double or triple occupancy accommodations

ELIGIBILITY

The program is open to George Mason University and non-GMU students of all levels, staff, faculty, and alumni, as well as the general public. To obtain credit, you need at least a 2.25 GPA.
