Study Abroad 101
Learn all about GMU’s study abroad programs from Center for Global Education Program Officers. This session includes information on study tours, intensive language programs, semester/year long programs, direct exchange programs and academic internships. There will be time for questions and private meetings after the session.

Exchanges/Semester & Year Long
Learn about exchange student programs at GMU. Students may study for either one semester or an entire academic year at one of our partner universities and earn 12 to 16 transfer credits per semester. Participants pay GMU tuition and an administrative fee to GMU. Room & board are paid to the host university. There is a wide range of classes to choose from in numerous fields, either in English or the language of the country, depending on the site. Please note that only a limited number of students can participate each semester. GMU can only send as many students as the foreign university sends to us, so as to maintain an exchange balance. You must be at least a second-semester sophomore at the time of departure and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 to qualify for most of the programs. Deadlines are October 1 for spring semester and March 1 for fall semester. Open to GMU students only.

Learn about how students can study overseas through one of our special semester abroad programs. Students can earn up to 16 transfer credits per semester. Eligibility requirements: 2.5 or above cumulative GPA (Ireland and Berlin require a 3.0) and at least 45 credit hours completed. Open to both GMU and non-GMU students.

International Internships
Learn about our international internships in London, England; Beijing, China; and Marseille, France. Students earn academic credits through real-world, hands-on experience that is complemented by a class focusing on the history and culture of the region. Internships are offered in a variety of fields including business, communications, government & politics, history, psychology & social services, and performing arts. Unpaid placements are available at locations including PR firms, art galleries, environmental firms, lobby groups, non-profit and voluntary organizations. Eligibility requirements: 2.5 cumulative GPA, 45 credits completed. Open to GMU and Non-GMU students.

Non-GMU Programs
Learn about how Center for Global Education - Mason Abroad can help you if you want to participate in a non-GMU study abroad program with a school other than GMU. Open to GMU students only.

Oxford Honors Program
Learn about GMU's prestigious Fall Oxford Honors semester program which is available to GMU students who have at least a cummulative GPA of 3.50 and above (graduate students must have a 3.80 and above). Earn 15 resident credits in beautiful Oxford, England.
