Program Details

Guanajuato is a colorful city edged by mountains and nestled 6550 feet above sea level. A UNESCO world heritage site due in large part to its well-preserved colonial architecture, Guanajuato's cobble-stoned streets are lined with restaurants, hostels, shops, and quaint homes.

This two-week intensive Spanish language program for intermediate and advanced students takes place at the University of Guanajuato's Language School. Students will live and eat daily with a Mexican family, affording them the unique opportunity to consistently practice their language skills outside of the classroom.

The program is also complemented by lectures on Mexican history and culture. All of the Spanish language classes are held in the morning for four to five hours while evenings and weekends allow time for excursions to places of historic and cultural interest. Examples of such excursions are to Dolores Hidalgo and San Miguel de Allende. A two-day trip to Mexico City and to Teotihuacán to visit the pyramids concludes the program.
